Honda NX650 Dominator by Andrew Greenland

Front view

Andrew Greenland from Wales bought his 1992 NX650 in Swansea for a mere £300 (US$450), with the intention of just restoring it as a winter project. No expenses were spared on this project, creating cool, comfortable and good-handling bike, using mostly genuine Honda parts.

Major modes include reducing the front wheel down from a 21″ to a 17″ x 2.5″ and fitting a rear tyre to it for that “sturdy” appearance. The exhaust system came from Jemco in Texas, with Trail Tech supplying the headlight and speedometer. Tank has been sourced from a 1976 Honda CG125 while side panels are CR250 1974 replicas, re-shaped to accommodate the CRF250 twin silencers. All suspension is rebuilt but remains standard spec. The project took six months to complete owing Greenland less than £2,000 (US$3,000) in total build costs.
