The 2012 Kawasaki Versys 1000 contributes liter bike ability to Kawasaki’s adventure-sport offering. It means that Kawasaki has joined what its spokesman called “the rapidly expanding adventure-bike movement.”The new Kawasaki Versys 1000 comes with two power mode selections, full and low, that permit the riders to easily adjust output based on riding preference and road situations.
Based on the 1,043cc inline-four motor in the Z1000, Kawasaki has adjusted the Versys 1000 for smoother power delivery and throttle response. Kawasaki claims a modest peak horsepower rating of 116hp while producing 75 ft.-lbs. of torque at 7700 rpm. A new inverted 43mm KYB fork, will add to the Versys’ off-road capabilities.
