The Chennai-based Indian motorcycle firm Royal Enfield has launched the Thunderbird 500 at the Auto Expo 2012. The bike looks like a sharpened cleaned up version of the old Thunderbird. The company is targeting touring enthusiasts with this cruiser.
The newly introduced Thunderbird is also stated to be the ultimate cruiser for India. The bike gets distinctive black styling and it is powered by a 500cc Unit Construction Engine that pumps out 27.2bhp at 5,250rpm and 41.3Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. The motorcycle also features a redesigned seat to compliment the new positions for the meaty footpegs. The new bike will be on the market by mid 2012.
