Husqvarna Concept Strada bike

Husqvarna Motorcycles keeps expanding its planned street bike lineup. The once-Swedish/now-Italian/German-owned marque revealed its Strada 650 at the Paris Motor Show on 29 November 2011. With a low weight, a punchy 650cc single-cylinder engine and quality components throughout, the Concept Strada is designed to provide a thrilling ride – whatever the distance.

Its combination of easy handling, punchy engine and user-friendly ergonomics will make it appeal to both young and ‘young at heart’ male and female riders looking for an extra special motorcycle for everyday use. The Strada incorporates a version of the BMW 650cc single-cylinder engine found in the BMW G 650 GS. Husqvarna says its price will be close to the BMWs, which at £5150 on-the-road is one of the cheapest 250cc-plus bike you can buy. The firm says its weight is under 170kg dry – considerably less than the BMWs 192kg.
