We have sad news for the entire world of Motorcyclist. Sergio Robbiano was tragically killed in a road traffic accident which happened on the roads of Genoa. Sergio was a great designer motorcycle student at the late Massimo Tamburini, who passed away earlier this year after a long battle with cancer. According to reports, 48-year-old Sergio lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a truck. Italian police are investigating the cause of the accident, but has not been in the press details.

Sergio Robbiano made a huge contribution to the development of the Italian motorcycles. Together with Tamburini he worked on a project Ducati 916, which was developed based on the iconic model Ducati 888. Model 916 has different longer stroke and a completely new control unit. Branded trellis frame has been added, which is new and aggressive bodywork. In addition, Sergio Robbiano participated in the development of many other Italian motorcycles including Cagiva Mito Ev 125, Bimota 500 V2 and DB5, as well as in the becoming of certain Husqvarna and Aprilia machines was highly applauded. Sergio was born in Palermo, Southern Italy, but for a long period he lived in Genoa. Like his master Massimo Tamburini, Robbiano will be remembered for his work.
