Piaggio revealed a new Aprilia adventure tourer at its dealer meeting dubbed the Caponord 1200. Based on the Dorsoduro 1200 platform, the new Caponord 1200 draws its design cues from the Aprilia RSV4. It shares exactly the same frame – a part-alloy, part-steel design – and suspension, as well as using the same DOHC V-twin engine.
The Aprilia Caponord 1200 features the same 1197cc engine that is likely to make 130 hp at 8700 rpm and 85ft-lb torque at 2700 rpm. The styling is very much in the current Aprilia mould, including a triple headlight arrangement at the front. Less supermoto and more tourer, the Aprilia Caponord 1200 will take on one of the most competitive segment of the market.
