The new 2012 Yamaha WR450F is pretty exciting, especially to those in the off-road world. It features a number of changes that significantly improve its engine performance and handling. The biggest changes are to the WR450’s chassis, which is essentially an YZ250F frame stuffed with the reliable five-valve 450cc Single.
The 2012 WR450F continues to use a wide-ratio five-speed transmission with a YZ450F-spec multiplate clutch. Despite all the changes, Yamaha wasn’t able to scrape any weight off the WR, claiming the same figure as the old model (273 pounds wet). However early reviews describe the new 450 as feeling slim and much lighter than the model it replaces. The WR is truly new for 2012 and has a reasonable MSRP of $8,090. Take a look!
