Born out of a strong necessity for cheap transportation in 1946 by the legendary engineer Corradino D’Ascanio, Vespa is a name and an icon that is well known all over the globe. The mother of all Italian scooters has been fascinating plenty of fans all around the world with its unique style, fuel efficiency and reliability of engine.
Piaggio has recently introduced two new versions of the Vespa for the summer 2012, with brand new125 and 150cc 3 valve engines developed by Piaggio’s own Research and Development Center. Both the models bring together all the Vespa values – freedom, elegance and affordability – and new standards for reduced fuel consumption and emissions with excellent performance. The new models come up with a 2.19-gallon fuel tank and Vespa claims that fuel consumption is of 155 mpg if riding at a constant speed of 30 mph.
