You are surprised to see the title, “Ural Solo St Café Racer” right? But this wonderful bike certainly qualifies for it. The owner of this 2003 Ural bike is former racer Seth Rugo, who also converted the bike.
Rugo wanted a Café racer, so he got out his tools. He added the heavier fork oil and shortened the fork for spring springs one inch. After that Rugo rewired the entire bike, and updated the electrics and moved the horn. He modified the kill switch, high beam and starter button controls to the headlight bucket.
If we check out the engine’s position then we see the latest spec internals. Also engine is fed by MM flat carbs. A port given to the heads and polish, and for a lower tone, Rugo lightly cored the exhaust to accommodate the carb tuning. You could also see the other modification including solo seat pan, shortened shock springs, brake light combo and a custom license plate.
He reports that the bike is a blast to ride. “With the shortened and stiffened suspension to accommodate my mid life spread, it handles great. The engine spins fast and the power band is wide. Reduced weight and the bent clubman bars make me feel like I’m doing 100 while the speedo shows 65.”
